A 32-year-old health worker died this Monday night as a result of the multiple hit-and-run that occurred around 10:25 p.m., in the parking lot of the Haro health center, as reported by the Government Delegation of La Rioja. The 26-year-old driver of the vehicle has been arrested.
The car broke into the parking lot of the health facility at high speed and took away a group of workers from the health center. Six people were injured, two of them seriously. The deceased is one of the seriously injured. There is fear for the life of the other seriously injured.
Agents of the Civil Guard, Haro Local Police, toilets and firefighters traveled to the scene of the events. All the injured were transferred to the San Pedro de Logroño Hospital, according to SOS-Rioja.
The Government of La Rioja has declared this Tuesday two days of official mourning, in which the agenda will be suspended, a minute of silence has been called in memory of the fatal victim. The health center has also called a rally for health personnel. The Government delegate and the Civil Guard are scheduled to make an appearance in the morning, as are those responsible for health in La Rioja.
