A woman died and at least four people were injured on Sunday after being run over by a vehicle outside a stadium in Torreón (north) after a match between Santos and Monterrey for the Clausura-2024 tournament in Mexico, one of the clubs indicated this Monday. .
“We deeply regret that one of our fans has died and several fans have been injured in the events that occurred this Sunday night in Torreón,” Monterrey published on its social networks, early Monday morning.
According to the first reports in the Mexican press, after Santos’ 2-0 defeat against Monterrey, a man allegedly a fan of the local team rammed a truck into the visiting club’s fans.
“For now, the alleged perpetrators have been arrested and placed at the disposal of local authorities,” the Santos club reported in a statement.
