And 68 year old patient has passed away and 24 personas have been attended by mild poisoning of smoke in the fire registered in a room on the fifth floor of the San Carlos Clinical Hospital of Madridas reported to EFE this Sunday by hospital sources.
The fire originated, for causes that are being investigated, around 01:00 last morning in the room where the deceased patient was admitted. The hospital’s first intervention team, in accordance with the fire protocol, acted quickly and prevented the flames from affecting other facilities.
They also traveled to the place various fire departments of the City Council, who completed the extinction of the fire, have indicated sources from Madrid Emergencies. A total of 17 patients were transferred to another area of the hospital center without any incident.
In addition, 24 people (police, hospital security and nursing staff) were treated by professionals from the center itself for minor poisoning as a result of smoke inhalation. They have all been discharged after showing a favorable evolution in the hours after the event.
