A private contractor in Japan went out for a night out with colleagues. However, in the hangover of alcohol, a very small item was lost from his hand. However, it became news nationwide and became a major scandal for him.

The reason is nothing but a lost USB driver. It contains the personal information of 4.6 lakh people. The memory stick contains the personal information of 460,000 residents of the city of Amagasaki, northwest of Osaka, Japan. In effect, that unnamed private contractor has set so many people on fire.

He was commissioned to assist in the delivery of Kovid relief funds to the city dwellers. Public broadcaster NHK reports that a 40-year-old officer fell asleep after drinking alcohol at a restaurant and lost his bag containing a flash drive when he woke up.

The lost USB drive contains the names, addresses, and dates of birth of all city dwellers, as well as bank account numbers and other personal information of the families receiving the aid. However, municipal officials said that so far no evidence has been found that the information was leaked. They also said that the pen drive had a password lock.

“We apologize for the profound loss of public confidence in the city’s governance,” an Amagasaki official told a news conference, according to the AFP news agency.
