This figure is relatively high compared to the rest of Europe: only the Spaniards were more numerous (39%) to say that they had not stopped. By comparison, only 20% of our German neighbors said they had not taken sick leave in the past year; however, Germany does not practice waiting periodwhich is three days in France.

It was in Asia that we found the greatest number of people saying they had not taken sick leave: there were 45% in Japan, and 51% in South Korea, or more than half. However, providing leave for non-work-related illnesses or injuries to their employees is not mandatory for South Korean employers.
