One in two Spaniards uses public transport more after the rise in fuel prices

The use of public transport and micromobility solutions is growing

Almost half of the people who have been surveyed by Moovit (48%) also answered affirmatively when asked if their relatives or friends have changed their mobility habits in recent months, assuring that they also use vehicles less frequently. For their part, almost 32% say that family and friends now use public transport more frequently than before.

The number of people who have begun to combine public transport with micromobility solutions (9% of those surveyed do), while 7% now use their private bicycle or scooter more. Only 28% believe that mobility has not changed in their closest environment.

Unanimous support for measures to encourage public transport

The measures to encourage the use of public transport have been one of the most acclaimed by Spanish citizens. Thus, more than 75% of users of this type of transport consider the implementation of the free pass on the Cercanía and medium-distance trains to be outstanding.
