It has been reported that Sri Lankans have left the country for employment abroad.
The Ministry of Foreign Employment Promotion and Market Diversification said in a statement.
Of those, 30,000 went to Qatar, 27,000 to Saudi Arabia, 20,000 to the United Arab Emirates, 1,400 to South Korea, 1,100 to Singapore, 1,600 to Cyprus and 800 to Japan.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, they have gone abroad despite the corona epidemic.
