During 12 weeks, FENACOAC and 5 Cooperatives affiliated to the MICOOPE System (COOSAJO, COSAMI, GUAYACÁN, TONANTEL AND UPA) participated in said program where strategies were created with which digital transformation routes are generated with short, medium and long-term initiatives towards a digital evolution in the financial sector of the MICOOPE Savings and Credit Cooperatives.
“Digitalization is vital for financial institutions in the region to remain competitive and promote adaptation to change. The alliance between IFC and Visa represents a key step to continue supporting financial inclusion in Guatemala,” said Liliana Pozzo, Manager of Financial Advisory Services for Latin America and Europe at IFC.
The program began in February of this year and ended with workshops, conferences and face-to-face work sessions directed and guided by experts in digital transformation from IFC and VISA. Implementing emerging business models and technological trends.
So far, 36 financial institutions from Latin America and the Caribbean have completed the DigiLab Finance program.
MICOOPE Cooperatives seeks to improve the quality of life of its Associates and the communities of Guatemala, for which reason improvements to current processes are expected to be implemented soon.
