At a recent community meeting in San Vicente del Caguán, alias Calarcá, leader of the FARC dissidents, declared that the release of his comrades is an essential condition for advancing the peace process with the national government.
This statement comes after the decision of the Prosecutor’s Office to release a group of dissidents, following an operation by the National Army in Antioquia.The freed individuals were transported in a caravan of the National Protection Unit, with alias Calarcá among them.

Alias Calarcá, who participates in the peace negotiationssuggested that the release of the detainees is a prior agreement with the Government.We are making clear some conditions to continue at the table and one of the conditions is that our comrades return to freedom because they are doing the exercise, at the table each one has a task, they have their missions clear and the Government, well, they say they are going to do it.the dissident leader said.
During the meeting, Calarcá stressed the importance of political pressure from the Government to ensure the release of his comrades.As the Government, it is their responsibility to exert political pressure to push forward what we are doing and the gesture has to be to get our comrades out, so we cordially thank you all, truly a thousand thanks and I invite you to keep an eye on things because this continues.“, he concluded.
The presence of a member of the indigenous guard along with alias Calarcá was also observed at the meeting.
