Seyyur, : Shanmugam, 51, a resident of Bouthangaranai village near Seyyur, is undergoing treatment at Seyyur Government Hospital due to frequent seizures.

Yesterday, Shanmugam went to bathe in the well in the field owned by Balakrishnan. He drowned due to a sudden convulsion while taking a bath.

As he did not return home after a long time, when the family searched the field, it was found that he had gone to bathe in the well.

Later, Shanmugam’s body was recovered when the locals searched the well.

Seyyur police are investigating.
