Karaoke Night – Talents Without Shame (from Thursday 4 January on Amazon Prime Video)

After LOL – He who laughs is out, Amazon tries again with Karaoke Night – Talents Without Shame. The rules are simple: whoever sings best doesn’t win, but whoever puts themselves out there the most, demonstrating that they are a true “shameless talent”. Between improprieties and wigs, ballets and disguises, Claudia Gerini, Alessia Lanza, Francesca Manzini, Pierpaolo Spollon, Nicola Ventola, Lele Adani and Tommaso Zorzi will compete with the microphone. Karaoke Night, on Amazon from January 4, is hosted by Dargen D’Amico.

Class of ’09 (from Wednesday 3 January on Disney+)

We travel through time, but we are neither in Dark nor in Bodies (if anything in Black Mirror). Class of ’09, on Disney+ from January 3, follows the journey of a group of FBI recruits: from the past (2009) to the future (2034), passing through the present (2023). A journey into the history of the recruits but also of the American judicial system, put to the test by the success of artificial intelligence which in 2034 allows criminals to be arrested even before they commit a crime. The series stars Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta) and Kate Mara, famous for her role in House of Cards.

The Brothers Sun (from Thursday 4 January on Netflix)

Bruce Sun’s life is turned upside down when his older brother, Charles, arrives in Los Angeles from Taipei. Bruce thus discovers that he is the heir of a powerful criminal family: when he was little, his mother ran away with him to California to allow him to have a different life. Charles himself, the brother that Bruce must now welcome with open arms, is a hardened criminal who had to leave Taipei after his father’s murder. The cast of The Brothers Sun, on Netflix from Thursday 4 January, also includes Michelle Yeoh, a Malaysian actress famous for action films and in particular for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

Orange Days (from Monday 1 January on Netflix)

Yuuki is a university student who is about to finish his studies; Hagio a violinist who has lost her hearing and communicates only with signs; Aida, an art history student who poses as a playboy but has a sensitive soul; Ozaka a tour leader; Eita is a graduate student in French literature who runs a wedding hall with his parents. Their stories intersect, between love and problems, in Orange Days, a Japanese series set in Tokyo and available from New Year’s Eve on Netflix.
