Mathrubhumi News reported the revelation of the girl victim in the case and the allegations against the police. The police arrested the accused in Bangalore on the seventh day after the news came out.

Chandera police had registered a case against the father in November 2019 for allegedly molesting his daughter. The child’s mother is also accused in the case of complicity in torture. However, the girl’s statement was recorded and a case was registered under the Pok‌mon Act, but the police did not arrest the culprits. Meanwhile, attempts were made to settle the case.

The abused girl is currently in the care of a relative. The mother had called them on the phone and demanded money to withdraw the complaint. Chandera, chairperson of the Child Rights Commission, issued an ultimatum to the police that if the accused is not caught within a week, he will have to appear before the DGP. Police said the accused was missing and arrested him within days.

The mother, a co – accused in the case, is also expected to be arrested soon. The father, who was taken into custody from Bangalore, will be repatriated on Thursday. Following the news, the Child Rights Commission intervened and provided counseling to the abused girl.
