One week postponement of South Africa Tour

With the Omigran threat looming, the Indian team’s tour of South Africa is set for Dec. The BCCI has confirmed that it will start on December 26 instead of December 17. The approval was given at the 90th General Body Meeting held in Kolkata yesterday. There are 3 Tests and 3 ODIs between India and South Africa. The schedule for the 4T20 matches is to be announced later.

* India’s PV Sindhu qualifies to play in the final of the PWF Finals Badminton Series in Indonesia. In the semi-finals, Sindh beat Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi 21-19, 15-21, 21-15 in the semifinals. In today’s final, Sindhu will clash with Korean player Ann Se Young.
* The retirement age for cricket umpires and assistants in India has been raised from 60 to 65, the BCCI has announced.
* India beat Malaysia 1-2 in the final of the Asian Squash Team Championship in Kuala Lumpur to win the silver medal.
* In the 2nd Test against Bangladesh which started yesterday in Dhaka, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat and scored 161 for 2 (57 overs) at the end of the first day.
