Sexual harassment and violence against women has been on the rise in Pakistan for the past few months.
In this case, the investigation department of Sama TV operating in Pakistan conducted a study on sexual assault.
In the end, 21,900 women have been sexually assaulted in Pakistan in the last 4 years, 3,327 women in 2017, 4,456 women in 2018, 4,573 women in 2019, 4,478 women in 2020 and 5,169 women in 2021.
That means one woman is sexually assaulted every 2 hours, an average of 12 women per day.

In 2022, 305 women have been sexually assaulted in the 4 months of May, June, July and August alone. At the same time, it is said that there may be more women who do not report sexual violence due to fear of family and identity.
Also, 1,957 homicides have taken place in Pakistan in the last 4 years.
This year, 1,301 cases related to sexual violence against women were heard in 44 courts of Pakistan. The police have filed chargesheets in 2,856 cases. However, only 4 percent of the cases were investigated, the report said.
It is noteworthy that in 2020, the United Nations Development Program reported that Pakistan was at the top of the 75 countries with anti-women attitudes in courts.
