One-year-old child drowned in bathtub

A 16-month-old child died on Tuesday in Saint-Brandan, south of Saint-Brieuc in the Côtes-d’Armor, while taking a bath in the bathtub at her parents’ home, reports The Telegram. According to the newspaper, the baby would have drowned.

It was his mother who called the fire brigade around 6:30 p.m. to report the tragedy to them. Neither the advice given by the operator nor the intervention of the firefighters and the SMUR doctor saved the child, who was declared dead on the spot. The gendarmerie was called and was also present. An investigation has been opened to try to determine the circumstances of the tragedy.
