OnePlus has a new concept phone model with a liquid cooling system

One Plus (OnePlus) presents at the Barcelona mobile exhibition, MWC 2023, a new concept model which it simply calls the OnePlus 11 Concept. In terms of appearance, it is indeed very similar to the familiar OnePlus 11 except for what is on the back – glowing blue stripes that show a kind of liquid flow on the back of the device.

According to One Plus’s explanation, this is not just a design gimmick: these are really semi-transparent tubes, and the liquid seen flowing through them is part of a cooling system called Active CryoFlux that should dramatically improve hardware performance, especially for games. The system reduces the working temperature of the device by at least 2.1 degrees Celsius, and while charging cools the battery by 1.7 degrees. This should be manifested in the form of an increase of about 4 frames/per second in games, or a shortening of 45 seconds in loading time.

Apart from the impressive pipe system, the system comes with a tiny water pump that is integrated into the device case without affecting its size or weight at all. Obviously, this is also a silent system, compared to the fans present in some popular gaming devices.

As with OnePlus’ previous concept models, this time too the company has no information to share as to when the Active CryoFlux technology may reach the devices intended for marketing, if at all. In the past, the company presented concept models that actually never reached commercial realization, but this time it seems that it is a technology with more practical implications and therefore it can be hoped that it will eventually reach one of the flagship devices.
