(ANSA) – ROME, JULY 21 – There are 534,760 Italian taxpayers who have decided, in 2023, to allocate 5 per thousand to their municipality of residence. According to what emerges from an elaboration by Centro Studi Enti Locali based on data from the Revenue Agency, these choices have generated a nest egg of almost 15.3 million euros that the beneficiary entities will have to allocate to the financing of social activities. A figure that compares with the over 16 million of the previous year (-5%) and which is lower, for example, than the amount allocated by Italians to amateur sports associations which, overall, have obtained almost 18 million euros. The donations that have actually “hit the mark” and which have translated into actual transfers from the State to the Municipalities are 531,164, for a total of 15,285,345 euros. 6,586 entities benefited from it, compared to 6,669 the previous year. In the other 3,596 cases, taxpayers had chosen as a beneficiary one of the 1,124 entities that did not reach the threshold of 100 euros, which is the minimum amount that can be paid out. In accordance with current regulations, the 52,595 euros allocated to these municipalities by their citizens were therefore diverted to other beneficiaries in the same category, in proportion to the other choices expressed by taxpayers. But which are the municipalities that received the most resources? Although it remains the queen of preferences (9,049), Rome was overtaken this year by Milan which, thanks to the choices of 7,362 citizens, was assigned 421,220 euros against the 396,550 euros landed in the Capital. Turin follows (158,753 euros), Bologna (107,400 euros), Verona (86,442 euros), Naples (85,678 euros) and Florence, with 75,387 euros. Surprisingly, in the top ten of the municipalities that are “major shareholders” of the 5 per thousand, Valdagno appears: a small municipality in the Vicenza area that was chosen by 2,896 taxpayers, double that of Bari and almost triple that of Treviso. With approximately 25,000 inhabitants, Valdagno has thus secured a loot of 75,387 euros, surpassing cities such as Genoa, Venice, Padua, Palermo, Bolzano, Parma, Trento and Bergamo and exceeding the amount donated to all the municipalities of Basilicata (or Molise), put together.
