Chennai: ‘1947 August 16’ is a film produced by director AR Murugadoss and written and directed by his assistant NS Ponkumar. The film is slated to hit the screens on April 7 in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu and features Gautham Karthik, Prema and newcomer Revathy. Music composed by Shawn Roldan. Speaking at the audio launch of the film, Sivakarthikeyan said: I worked behind the scenes at Satyam Theater at the audio launch of ‘7th Sense’ directed by AR Murugadoss. Then I hosted the audio festival of his film ‘Engeyum Vamid’. Then I played the hero in his film ‘Mann Karate’. Now I am sitting on the stage of the same Satyam Theater as a special guest for the film festival he is producing. There are many people who are happy when one grows up. But there are very few people who wish to grow up with someone who is like me. Ajith Kumar’s dialogue in ‘Veeram’ is, ‘If we look at the one who is with us, the one who is above will look after us’. AR Murugadoss is happy to select and produce the story of his assistant directors.
