by Laura Richards – Editor-in-Chief

The developers of ⁢the LYONOFFICE⁤ project have released version ⁣3.0 of their room-based collaboration environment, with more than‍ 25 new features and improvements.

The updated version⁤ of OnlyOffice DocSpace for Linux includes many⁢ new features ⁤across the platform, such as⁣ new‌ room typology for improved⁤ file security,⁤ better management⁢ of users,⁢ rooms and files, ⁢ Yes ⁢ a commercial version for developers ⁤and integrators.

Mbetter user management

In OnlyOffice DocSpace‌ 3.0Developers are reorganizing user types ⁣and ⁢roles to make the user management process more⁣ intuitive, transparent, and cost-effective.

The Account section is now called Contacts and features a new Guests tab, a free‍ contact ‍type. Guests‍ only have ⁢access to the rooms ⁢they have been invited to, and each member has their own guest list. The expert user also becomes the free user type. This ⁢way⁤ you can add an unlimited number of users and guests at no cost.

Inside rooms, DocSpace⁣ owners and ⁤administrators ‌can ⁤now only perform ⁣actions based on ‌the role ⁤for which they‌ were invited to ⁢one or another room. ‌Additionally, the Room Manager and ⁣Content Creator roles are new to Rooms.

Virtual ‍data rooms

The new room type is‌ used to securely store and share sensitive‌ company information, for ⁣example for due diligence purposes. Users can automatically index‍ and scan all ‍contents, generate a summary report ‍on the room’s file ‌structure for excellent record keeping ⁣and stay organized. To protect sensitive files, watermarking, ‍file lifetime, and download and copy limitation are available.

OAuth2.0

OAuth 2.0 ⁣in the Developer Tools section provides access to Onlyoffice’s DocSpace API for authorization⁣ and other actions such as file ‍access. Users ⁢can register a new application, manage created ‌apps, deactivate and‍ activate ‌them at any time.

Improved management: rooms and files

The developers ⁤have implemented⁣ new updates ⁣to DocSpace rooms,⁤ including the ability to share public rooms for editing, reviewing and commenting, as well as customizing each‌ room’s‌ cover.

OnlyOFFICE DocSpace ‍3.0 also offers new options for more convenient file management: settings to‌ display file extensions next to the file name and conversion of XML files to ⁢DOCX or XLSX for viewing and ⁤editing.

Title: A Deep Dive into Collaboration:‍ Interview with the OnlyOffice DocSpace Developer

Editor: Welcome to Time.news! Today,‌ we⁢ have a⁢ special⁣ guest, an expert in collaborative software development and one of the ⁤key developers behind the recently ⁢launched OnlyOffice DocSpace 3.0. ‌Thank you for joining us!

Developer: Thank you for having me! I’m excited ⁣to discuss what we’ve been working on.

Editor: Let’s⁤ dive ⁤right in. ‌DocSpace 3.0 has introduced over 25 new features. What ‍would‍ you say is ⁢the most exciting‍ enhancement ‌in this ⁤version?

Developer: That’s a tough choice, but I’d⁣ say the introduction of the new⁢ room typology for improved file ⁣security stands‍ out. This feature allows our users ‍to create ⁣virtual data rooms, which are essential for⁤ securely sharing sensitive company information, especially during due diligence processes.

Editor: Virtual data rooms sound important, especially for businesses handling confidential information. Can you elaborate on how these rooms⁣ enhance security?

Developer: Absolutely! These rooms incorporate‌ features like‍ watermarking, file lifetime settings, and restrictions on‌ downloads‍ and ‍copying. Additionally, users can automatically index and⁢ scan all contents, helping them generate summary‌ reports that enhance organization and compliance.

Editor: That’s quite comprehensive! Moving ⁣on, user management has been revamped ⁣in this ‍version. How has the user experience been improved?

Developer: We’ve reorganized user types and roles⁤ to make user management more ⁣intuitive. For instance, we introduced a “Guests”⁤ tab, allowing‍ administrators to invite guests who have⁢ limited access to only the rooms they’re invited to. This provides‌ organizations with greater ⁤flexibility and control.

Editor: It seems that the ability to ⁢invite unlimited⁤ guests at ‌no cost could be a game-changer for collaboration. Can ‍you tell us about the feedback you’ve received from users regarding these changes?

Developer: ‌So far, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Users appreciate the ability to add unlimited guests without additional costs. It ⁣fosters collaboration, ⁤especially for teams working with external partners. We also received praise for introducing ‌new roles like the Room Manager and ⁤Content Creator,‍ which empower users to better manage their collaborative ⁤spaces.

Editor: Excellent. I also noticed ⁣that you mentioned OAuth⁢ 2.0 as an addition to the Developer Tools section. How does this improve integration⁤ for developers?

Developer: OAuth 2.0 provides a more secure and ⁣simplified way for developers to integrate with our API. Now, they can easily register new applications, manage existing ones, and control access to different services. ⁤It streamlines the authentication process while ensuring better security for users.

Editor: That sounds very useful. Now let’s talk about file management. How ⁣have you improved that aspect in⁢ DocSpace 3.0?

Developer: We introduced many⁢ enhancements, like the option to display file extensions alongside file names, which reduces confusion.‌ Additionally, users can now convert XML files to formats like DOCX or XLSX for easier viewing and editing. Such features ⁢significantly enhance the user experience, making it easier to manage various file ‍types.

Editor: It looks‌ like you really considered user feedback in this update. What’s⁣ next for the DocSpace platform?⁤ Are there any‌ exciting features on the horizon?

Developer: We’re continuously ⁢working⁣ to⁤ innovate, and we have some exciting features planned ‍for future updates, including improved AI⁣ capabilities for content management and collaboration. We aim to enhance our platform further, always keeping user needs in mind.

Editor: Amazing! It’s⁢ clear that OnlyOffice ‍DocSpace is not‍ just keeping up with the‍ demands of‌ modern collaboration but leading the charge. Thank you‌ for sharing these insights with‍ us today. We can’t wait to ‍see‌ what’s next!

Developer: ⁤ Thank you! I ⁢appreciate the opportunity to⁤ discuss ‌our work. Stay tuned for more updates from‍ OnlyOffice!

Editor: ⁤And thank⁣ you to our readers for joining us. Be sure ‌to keep an eye on the developments of OnlyOffice DocSpace ‌as it⁢ continues to evolve!
