“The Director General of ONMT, Adel El Fakir, signed a Record agreement with Sebastian Ebel, Chairman and CEO of TUI Group, the world’s leading tourism operator,” the Office said in a press release.
This agreement covers the next 5 years from the summer season 2023 to the winter 2027-2028, encompassing 10 seasons, and is expected to more than double tourist arrivals to Morocco with a growth rate of approximately 220%, according to the source.
Currently, TUI records around 210,000 annual customers in Morocco. This partnership is anticipated to increase the volume to almost half a million customers.
For Adel El Fakir, “This is a pivotal moment for the ONMT and Moroccan Tourism. TUI is undoubtedly a leading operator, and this agreement will enable them to expand their programming in Morocco. It also suggests similar commitments from other travel providers.”
Specifically, this partnership will double tourist arrivals from France, triple those from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, triple arrivals from the UK market, and quadruple arrivals from the Dutch market.
The ONMT continues its relentless efforts to capture key strategic markets for Morocco.
It’s worth noting that TUI GROUP is a global leader in tourism, encompassing diverse activities such as tour operators with renowned brands, 1,600 travel agencies and online portals, nearly 400 hotels, international incoming agencies, six airlines with approximately 150 planes, and 18 cruise ships.
In Morocco, the group plans to maintain its momentum with significant investments in Agadir and Marrakech.
