Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy visited the residence of late CPIM State Secretary and former Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. Former minister KC Joseph, KSU state president Abhijit and party workers were with Oommen Chandy at Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s home.
Oommen Chandy arrived at the residence near Kodiyeri Muliilnada this afternoon. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s sons Bineesh Kodiyeri, Binoy Kodiyeri, Kodiyeri’s wife and close relatives were present in the house. Speaker AN Shamseer and others came to receive Oommen Chandy who came down in the car.
Oommen Chandy asked Kodiyeri’s wife and children for information. When Oommen Chandy, who had the infirmities of age, left the house, Bineesh Kodiyeri walked with him holding his hand.

Responding to the media, Oommen Chandy said that he could not come on the day of Kodiyeri’s death due to illness. Oommen Chandy said that Kodiyeri Balakrishnan was very close to him beyond politics and his demise was very unexpected.
