Information from The Wall Street Journal that Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman allegedly warned about a possible drop in oil prices is unfounded.

As Day.Az reports with reference to Gazeta.ru, this is stated in the OPEC statement published on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

The organization emphasized that there was no OPEC+ video meeting last week, which the American publication writes about.

“Dubious claims associated with anonymous sources have no credibility and are completely fabricated,” OPEC said.

According to the organization, the article published in a reputable publication not only lacks journalistic ethics and professionalism, but also demonstrates blatant disrespect for the ministers of OPEC+ countries.

On Wednesday, October 2, the newspaper predicted a sharp drop in oil prices. According to The Wall Street Journal, fuel prices could drop to $50 per barrel if OPEC+ countries do not adhere to agreed production limits. The publication referred to the words of Saudi Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud.
