Opel’s future is electric. And it is already something undeniable after the recent presentation of the Experimental concept, a battery electric crossover with a size slightly larger than an Astra but with a large space like an Insignia that advances the image of the next steps that of the lightning mark. Its characteristics stand out cutting-edge aerodynamic efficiencythe spacious and bright interior with light seats and the latest generation Head-Up Display.

One of the most striking things about the elegant silhouette of the Opel Experimental is the absence of chrome. Instead, exterior lighting and bold contrast graphics add personality and sophistication to the already impressive proportions. Altogether, the efficient battery-electric crossover is based on a state-of-the-art Stellantis BEV platform, and is also equipped with electric four-wheel drive.

The spectacular tapered profile has a bold and pure design with a clean surface to enhance its impressive presence. Even traditional wing mirrors have given way to 180-degree cameras fully integrated into the C-pillars, while sharp, muscular wheel arch moldings accentuate its confident presence.

At the front, the new illuminated Opel Blitz sits proudly at the center of the distinctive Opel Compass, the guiding element of Opel’s design philosophy. It is flanked by the characteristic illumination of the elongated brim on the horizontal axis, while the illuminated central crease adds further drama. This is then echoed at the rear with the distinctive compass signature brake light, created by edge lighting technology and sophisticated glass transparency.

This is combined with the striking Opel lettering, instead of the Blitz logo at the rear, to form the central element. Around the front compass is the next generation 4D Opel Vizor. The extra dimension is the addition of advanced vision technologies including sensors, lidar, radar, and camera systems.

If something stands out inside, it is its spaciousness and innovations. The steering wheel easily folds away when not needed, made possible by the electronic steering system, which further reduces weight by eliminating mechanical steering components. On the other hand, the lightweight adaptive seats combine a lightweight yet durable structure with 3D mesh technology fabrics. This guarantees the excellent seating comfort that customers are used to in Opel vehicles, while also helping to free up space inside the concept car.

Instead of conventional screens, information or entertainment is presented using augmented projection technology supported by artificial intelligence and natural voice control.
