OPEN DAILY. MEMORY OF A LOCKDOWN
Writing

The project Diary of a confinement, was created by Talía Barredo García in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the aim of creating a space of visibility for Spanish-speaking women artists living around the world. It was a relational collaborative project in which, through virtuality, the participants revolved around the issues that shook them in those days of confinement.

Over time, it became a space to mainly talk about the processes of the artists who joined the project and, of course, the echoes that the pandemic left on them. To date, 106 artists residing in 13 different countries have participated, most of them in Latin America.

The exhibition Open journal. Memory of a confinement brings this project to materiality, recognizing the resistance, through the processes and records of their works, of more than forty contemporary artists, including Dora Román, Mariela Soldano, Laura Larroca and Edith Pereira.

Open journal. Memory of a confinement. Museum of Graphic Arts, Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. From March 29 to June 5, 2023.
