Bishop Paolo Martinelli, Apostolic Administrator of South Arabia, said that while Pope Francis is on an apostolic visit to Bahrain, the Gulf region shows that people of many cultures can live together in peace and bear witness to the joy of the Gospel.

Bishop Martinelli said this in an interview given to the Vatican News and said that during this mission, Pope Francis will show an open-mindedness.

When Pope Francis, who is making his second apostolic visit to the Gulf country in a very short period of time, was asked what kind of inspiration he could give to the Catholics there, Father Martinelli said that his apostolic visit would lead to a new way to eliminate differences and help everyone live together in a spirit of brotherhood through interfaith dialogue.

Responding to the question of what dimensions can bring everyone together when the majority of Catholics and missionaries in Arabia are foreigners, Father Martinelli highlighted that being a minority in the country commits us to be witnesses in social life in the light of the Gospel, avoids any kind of conversion, aims at the essential needs and helps us to live the faith with simplicity. .

When asked how their faith helps Christians in their struggling lives, God’s people in the Gulf region are alive, they are very young and active. In general, he said, they often visit places of worship and participate in mass with joy, and such activities contribute to their success in Christian life.
