Arvind Atri, a resident of Melbourne’s Donnybrook, had one such experience. After opening the door, Arvind stepped out and stepped on a poisonous snake. The snake, frightened by the unexpected incident, crawled under the concrete path in front of the house. Arvind immediately called in Mark Pelley, an expert snake catcher. By the time Mark arrived on the scene, the snake had gone under the concrete. It was an Australian copperhead snake that came to Arvind’s backyard. Australian copperheads are a venomous species in the cobra and mamba family.
After half an hour of effort, Mark was able to catch the snake from under the concrete. Mark says that the big accident was averted because Arvind behaved in the right moment after stepping on the snake. Along with that, he had instructed the family not to come out of the house and kept them safe. People’s reactions are that Arvind is lucky after the scene of the incident went viral on social media.
Australian copperhead snakes grow from three to five feet in length. They prefer to live in cold climates. Snakes of this species take special care not to be seen by humans. Their bites cause toxic effects on the nerves, blood and body cells of the human body. There is a high chance of death if not treated on time.
