Today’s Opening Ceremony

Today, Wednesday, August 28 at 21:00, the opening ceremony of the 17th Paralympic Games 2024 in Paris will take place!

More than 4,000 male and female athletes from 189 countries will participate in the Games across 549 events from a total of 22 sports!

The central slogan of the Games is “Open to All,” with the French organizers sending this message during the recent Olympic Games as well.

The opening ceremony, just like the Olympics, will be held outdoors, specifically at Place de la Concorde, which hosted skateboarding, freestyle BMX, and 3X3 basketball during the event.

The title of the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Games is “Paradox,” with the organizing committee promoting the theme of disability as a means of progress and inclusion.

The Paralympic Games will last until September 8, when the closing ceremony of the event will take place.
