The Public Authority for Manpower said that the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Acting Minister of Defense Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah directed the opening of new cooperation frameworks to bring in expatriate workers from new countries to meet the market need for manpower in this field.

The authority added in a press statement today, Wednesday, that the directives of the First Deputy Prime Minister included coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to sign memorandums of understanding with new labor-exporting countries.

And it indicated that it is implementing Labor Law No. (6) of 2010 regarding work in the private sector and Domestic Labor Law No. (68) of 2015, which provides full protection for labor rights.

She emphasized that these trends are in line with the general policy direction towards adjusting the demographics and ensuring the diversity of sources of expatriate labor in Kuwait to fill the shortage in the labor market.
