Opening in Cairo of the 3rd World Forum for the Culture of Just Peace with the participation of Morocco

Organized by the Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Cultural Foundation around the theme “Just Peace for Development”, this three-day event includes among its participants the former diplomat and Secretary General of the Assilah Forum Foundation, Mohamed Benaïssa, as well as intellectuals and academics, Abdelilah Belkeziz and Abdelhak Azzouzi.

According to the organizers, this Forum aims to strengthen the sincere human will to establish a just peace, to spread it and to carry the voice of reason and wisdom to make the call for war inaudible throughout the world.

To this end, the Forum will examine ways to encourage development at the regional and international levels, through the consecration of the culture of dialogue, understanding and peace, the strengthening of the values ​​of equity, equality and common rights, which constitute the constant foundations of sustainable development in all regions of the world on the political, economic, social, cultural and institutional levels.

Speaking on the occasion, Kuwaiti Minister of Culture and Information Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi said that the Forum plays an important role in the peace process to create a conducive environment that promotes development through dialogue and the exchange of ideas between intellectuals and creators.

This Forum also aims to “transcend borders” by examining all issues related to development, the minister added, affirming that the Abdulaziz Al-Babtain Foundation is “a meeting point” between different cultures.

It is also an opportunity to serve humanity by consolidating peace so that the world can achieve development, tranquility and prosperity, he said, believing that culture is “the best way to unify nations.”

The programme of this Forum includes six panels dedicated to “the question of development and just peace”, “peace and institutional development”, “peace and social development”, “peace and cultural development”, “peace and economic development” as well as “experiences and perspectives of peace and development”.

The Abdulaziz Saud Al-babtain Cultural Foundation organized a first edition of this Forum on the theme of peace education for the protection of cultural heritage, at the International Court of Justice (The Hague in the Netherlands) in June 2019, as well as a second edition in March 2022 in Valletta (capital of Malta), on the subject of governance in favor of just peace.
