The ENSAM-Rabat Olympics, organized from February 8 to 11, will bring together more than 3,000 students representing the different higher education schools in Morocco who will compete in various sporting disciplines, including football, basketball, volleyball and swimming.
This 6th edition also opens up to the cultural richness of Morocco, allowing participants to discover the diversity of Moroccan culture through a range of activities, including an exhibition highlighting traditional outfits, music and dance performances. traditional dance, cultural competitions and round tables on various aspects of Moroccan culture.
In a statement to the press on this occasion, the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid indicated that this event constitutes an opportunity to exchange ideas with young people, noting that the programs of his department are intended for this category to allow them to flourish and create in different fields, like sport.
The theme of this 6th edition of the ENSAM-Rabat Olympics reflects the attachment of new generations to the cultural heritage of the Kingdom, he noted, adding that youth activities, particularly sport, are closely linked and encourage the growing interest in this category.
For his part, the interim president of the Mohammed V University of Rabat, Farid Elbacha, underlined in a similar statement that the different aspects of student life within higher education establishments, like sport and culture, require particular interest, in order to promote their academic development but also on a personal level.
Mr. Elbacha noted that the university is not only a space for learning and sharing knowledge, but also a living space, hence “our support for this initiative”, which is in line with the government policy and the reform of the Moroccan university.
This event aims to highlight individual and collective skills in the field of sport which constitutes a lever for the personal development of students, he noted.
