The Marseille public prosecutor’s office has opened a new investigation into alleged acts of police violence, during the nights of riots between the end of June and the beginning of July in the Marseille city, following a complaint filed by a young man. The alleged facts would have occurred during the riots which were held on the night of June 30 to July 1, in the city. However, the number of police officers targeted by this complaint has not been disclosed.

Four Marseille police officers are already indicted for the same types of facts. Another young man was reportedly beaten up during the riots in early July.
