Opening of Imam Malik School for Islamic Education in Tripoli

Today, Tuesday, the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, participated in the opening of the Imam Malik School for Islamic Education in the Dhahra area in Tripoli, accompanied by the Mufti of Libya, Sheikh Al-Sadiq Al-Gharbani, and a number of the country’s scholars and jurists.

According to what was reported by the official “Our Government” platform, Dabaiba expressed during his speech his pride in participating in the opening of the Imam Malik School, stressing that the Government of National Unity attaches great importance to religious education, and that it has pledged to support these legitimate institutions to make them successful and to restore their advocacy activity after years of neglect and marginalization.

Al-Dabaiba stressed the importance of the role of scholars and jurists in legitimate institutions in building the nation and the citizen, explaining that educational institutions and religious education had the lion’s share in what the government achieved in the process of development and growth of all state institutions.

This school is one of the oldest religious schools in Tripoli, which began as a beacon for teaching and memorizing the Holy Quran, affiliated with the Dorar Mosque (Khalil Pasha Al-Arnaouti), which was established in 1739 AD with an area of ​​320 square meters, while the school was established in 1920 AD, on an area of ​​5200 square meters.

The school, which underwent maintenance and development work as part of the Return to Life plan, consists of two educational floors with an area of ​​3,000 square meters, and includes two teaching departments for boys and girls, a library that accommodates about 50 male and female students, a visual display hall for lectures, a dining hall and its affiliated facilities that accommodate 70 male and female students, an internal yard for boys and another for girls, a parking lot, and external gardens.
