Friday, September 8, the XV of France will face New Zealand for the opening match of the Rugby World Cup at the Stade de France (Saint-Denis). This Wednesday, the FO-RATP union of the Services and Multimodal Spaces (SEM) department confirms the maintenance of a strike notice for that day. The SEM is made up of employees employed in metro or RER stations at ticket offices and responsible for sales or information.

FO RATP is calling for better bonuses during the event for station agents, who will be mobilized in large numbers to welcome spectators during the ten or so matches organized at the Stade de France, served by lines 12 and 12 of the metro, as well as the RER B and D, operated by SNCF.

“Nine out of 10 station agents will not get anything”

FO-RATP denounces in a press release issued on Wednesday “the contempt of management”, which does not follow up on its requests for better bonuses. While metro and RER drivers will benefit from a bonus of 330 euros for all, as well as several “per act” bonuses, nine out of 10 station agents will not receive anything according to the FO-RATP union, the only to threaten strike. “They will realize that without us, the stations will remain closed. If they have no one to open, close, rescue, welcome, channel, sell, manage the teams, manage the coverage of posts, manage the agents administratively…”, adds FO. The union also aims to prepare for the 2024 Olympics. Negotiations are to be held in the fall to discuss the bonuses to be granted to employees during the tests, so that they shift their vacations.
