The opera ‘Again 2024 Turandot’, which was scheduled to be performed 10 times until the 31st, canceled the last performance.

According to ticket reservation sites such as Interpark and Ticket Link on the 30th, performance time information is displayed only for the 9th evening performance. Ticket sales are currently suspended.

The organizer, 2024 Turandot Cultural Industry Company, originally named the performance on the 31st as ‘New Year’s Eve Blockbuster Musical Opera’. The plan was to start at 9:30 PM on the 31st and listen to the New Year’s Eve bells. The promotional poster also included the phrase, ‘Spend the last hour of the year with Turandot.’

Conductor Paolo Caryani was scheduled to stand on the podium on the 31st, but he has already left the country. Kariyani said in a material distributed to the media the previous day, “I asked the production side 9 times to confirm the conducting schedule, but all of them were ignored.” He added, “Rehearsals were held in a place other than the COEX performance hall from the 16th to the 25th after arriving in Korea. “That was all I did, and from the 18th onwards, I had to stay in the hotel without knowing when I would be in command,” he claimed.

2024 Turandot was on the chopping block due to poor management from the start. Director Davide Livermore left the show ahead of the first performance on the 22nd, and due to poor ticket sales, the number of seats from 6,800 was reduced to about 4,000, leading to protests from audience members who were not assigned seats.
