Operation “Ramadan 1445”: More than 100,000 beneficiary households in the Oriental region

According to data from the regional coordination of National Mutual Aid, this operation, initiated by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, concerns 19,300 families in the province of Jerada, an increase of 100% compared to the year 2022, followed by the provinces of Figuig (17,700) and Guercif (14,800), up by 8,850 and 7,400 families respectively compared to two years ago.

Similarly, 12,704 households benefited from this operation in the province of Taourirt (up 100% compared to 2022), 11,685 in the province of Driouch, 11,319 in Nador, 6,312 in Berkane followed by the prefecture of Oujda-Angad with 6,196 beneficiary families.

In a statement to MAP, the regional coordinator of the National Mutual Aid of the Oriental, Hamid El-Khazri, affirmed that this operation, organized in execution of the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, aims to provide assistance and support to the most vulnerable social groups, in particular the elderly without family support, the disabled and widows.

He said that provincial and local committees have been set up to ensure that this operation takes place in the best conditions, starting with the updating of lists and the preparation of stores, the reception of food supplies and their examination, through the distribution of beneficiary cards and aid to those entitled to them registered on the lists that have been identified.

The food aid basket contains quality flour (10 kg), rice (5 kg), sugar (4 kg), lentils (1 kg), two 800 gram cans of tomatoes, pasta (1 kg), and tea (850 grams), cooking oil (5 liters) and milk (6 liters).

His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, launched on Wednesday in the Yaâcoub El Mansour district in Rabat the national operation “Ramadan 1445”, initiated by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and benefiting one million households, or nearly 5 million people.

Mobilizing a budget of 347 million dirhams, the “Ramadan 1445” operation involves the distribution of 34,550 tons of food products (flour, milk, rice, oil, sugar, tomato paste, vermicelli, lentils and tea).
