The deputies that make up the Foreign Relations Commission of the Legislative Assembly approved an opinion that reflects the agreement on the ratification of the exemption of visas for tourism or visits in current or ordinary passports to Bolivia.

“The success of the economic and tourism issue is related to this visa exemption agreement between both governments. This is done in accordance with the internal regulations that deal with visas and with the immigration and customs issue,” said the director of Legal Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Patricia Aguilera Bran.

The agreement, signed on May 31, 2019, aims to reciprocally facilitate the formalities of tourism trips or visits for nationals of both nations. Previously, the cost of the visa for Bolivians was $100, but with this exemption that money is no longer charged.

The agreement, which consists of 12 articles, will benefit residents of both countries, holders of ordinary passports (in the case of Bolivia) and ordinary passports (in the case of El Salvador). Thus, they may enter and remain in the territory of the other State for the purpose of rest or recreation.
