He said that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is going to raid his place. He has been informed about this by the ED people themselves. In this post of Rahul, one can see a glimpse of Kejriwal style politics – hit and run. Stop making false promises and let people keep speculating. Arvind Kejriwal is considered to be the pioneer of this politics in the country. He used to make similar predictions first for his fellow leaders and then for himself. This ED team is coming, Manish (Sisodia) will be arrested anytime. Then predictions started being made about Sanjay Singh. Finally, Kejriwal started challenging the ED to arrest him. Kejriwal’s style of election campaign is also unique. Sometimes he says that he has come to know about the internal report of the IB in which it has been claimed that his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will form the government. Overall, Arvind Kejriwal carries with him the entire market of false promises. So the question is, is Arvind Kejriwal’s politics the inspiration behind Rahul Gandhi’s prediction about ED raids? Rahul Gandhi had said in a meeting with the media at his residence on December 4, 2013 that he will understand the secret of Arvind Kejriwal’s success and will follow him. Kejriwal’s newly formed Aam Aadmi Party had won 28 seats in the Delhi Assembly for the first time, defying all predictions. Rahul Gandhi was reacting to this. Senior journalist Rashid Kidwai, who keeps a close eye on the politics of the Congress party, has said in one of his articles that 11 years have passed since Rahul’s statement. During this time, he has learned a lot from Kejriwal and has learned so much that he has become even better than Kejriwal. Meaning, Rahul has become a bigger gimmick than Kejriwal.
If we look at the timing of Rahul Gandhi’s latest social media post, his deep planning can be understood. He has posted it at 1.52 am. On one hand, an attempt has been made to convey that some ED officer told Rahul at night and he immediately informed the world. Meaning, Rahul’s claim is absolutely correct. The second message is that Rahul Gandhi stays awake till late at night and works. This message has tried to refute the claims that Rahul rests from 10 pm to 10 am and during this time no one can contact him.
Journalist Rashid Kidwai says that if ED really raids then Rahul’s claim will be proved right and a message will go to the public. If it does not raid then Rahul will say that Modi government withdrew its step out of fear of him. Meaning, Rahul has got sweets in both the hands. Kidwai says that currently there are 53 percent MPs of the ruling party in the Lok Sabha and 47 percent of the opposition. In such a situation, the bureaucracy would be trying to strike a balance between the two. Therefore, it is possible that Rahul’s claim that he has been informed about the raid by ED’s inside sources is correct.
However, senior journalist Pradeep Singh says that there is no truth in Rahul Gandhi’s claim. He has only made a hoax and nothing else. Pradeep Singh says that Rahul has liked Kejriwal’s politics, so he is hell-bent on making a record of telling lies after lies. He says that no one exposes his sources. If Rahul is saying that people inside ED have informed him about the raid, then it is wrong. But another senior journalist Vinod Agnihotri says that Rahul has not named anyone, so it cannot be said that he has exposed his sources. According to Agnihotri, it cannot be believed that Rahul’s people will not be in the bureaucracy.
Rahul Gandhi has liked Kejriwal’s politics, there are many more examples of this. Kidwai says that Kejriwal made muffler his brand and Rahul made white T-shirt his brand. Kejriwal keeps Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the main target of his attacks, so does Rahul Gandhi. Kejriwal keeps doing some trick or the other to remain in news, Rahul also becomes cobbler and mechanic at times. He sometimes meets loco pilots and sometimes labourers. It means to remain in news in some way or the other. Kejriwal has an NGO background, Rahul’s basic advisors are from the community of NGOs and social workers.
