Christopher Nolan’s film is set in the 1940s and focuses on the figure of Robert Oppenheimer (played by Cillian Murphy), the theoretical physicist who led the Manhattan Project, a secret program for the creation of nuclear weapons. The film shows how Oppenheimer collaborated with other scientists, such as Niels Bohr, Ernest Lawrence and Edward Teller, to develop the first atomic bomb, which was later dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In addition, Oppenheimer’s private life is also explored, his relationship with his wife Katherine and his moral and existential crises in the face of the implications of his invention. Also starring Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh and Matt Damon. (Directed and written by Christopher Nolan, the film is based on “American Prometheus”, the biography of J.
