New Delhi: Bharti Airtel will now provide fixed deposit (FD) facility through its digital unit Airtel Finance. The company has joined hands with big NBFCs and small finance banks for this. Airtel users will get FD facility on Airtel Thanks app itself. On Monday, the company said that users will get interest up to 9.1%. Through Airtel Finance, users will be able to easily do FD and can also withdraw money on maturity. Users will get different FD options and fixed returns on Airtel Thanks app. Bharti Airtel on Monday announced the launch of a fixed deposit platform under Airtel Finance. The company has partnered with leading non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) and small finance banks for this. Bharti Airtel said that this is a fixed deposit ‘marketplace’, where term deposits can be taken and redeemed. Assured returns and fixed income investment options will be available on the Airtel Finance digital platform. It has been brought under Airtel’s ‘Thanks’ app.

You will get interest up to 9.1% per annum

The company said, ‘Bharti Airtel today launched a fixed deposit ‘marketplace’ under its digital unit Airtel Finance. This will offer interest up to 9.1 percent per annum.’

Airtel Finance has partnered with several small finance banks and NBFCs including Utkarsh Small Finance Bank, Shivalik Bank, Suryoday Small Finance Bank and Shriram Finance to offer fixed deposit services. This will help customers get fixed returns at a higher interest rate.

You can make FD with an investment of Rs 1,000

Airtel Finance Chief Business Officer Anshul Kheterpal said, “We have partnered with good banks for this. In this, customers will get completely transparent and seamless digital service.”

On the Airtel Thanks app platform, customers can avail direct fixed deposit facility without opening a new bank account with a minimum investment of Rs 1,000. According to the statement, Airtel Finance is also offering fixed deposit option with anytime withdrawal after seven days. It hopes that this will eliminate all the concerns of customers regarding ‘lock-in’ and cash.
