Opposition party denounces “chaotic situation” in Algeria

The resignation of the Algerian government during two dramatic events that the country experienced, namely the last wave of Covid-19 and the fires, is proof of an “insurmountable failure” of the Executive, regrets the Secretary General of the PT, Ms. Louisa Hanoune.

Speaking during the work of the ordinary session of the central committee of this party, she considered that the succession of events that the country has experienced is not a coincidence, deploring “an almost total resignation of the Executive”.

In her analysis, Ms Hanoune regretted a kind of will that tends to provoke disaster, observing that “events follow one another in a strange way”.

In this sense, the head of the PT cites “the devastating fires”, “the Covid-19 pandemic” and “the horrible assassination of the activist Djamel Bensmaïl”, questioning this succession that she certainly does not put in the register of chance.

She warned “against the instrumentalisation of the fight against terrorism” through “amalgamations and generalisations”, evoking other crises which, according to her, reinforce these doubts.

“The ordinary bread crisis, the systematic water cuts, the backpedaling of the Ministry of National Education on the teaching of Tamazight, the announcement of the opening of capital of public air and maritime transport companies, the continuation of the so-called health lockdown, the shortage of medicines and the risks weighing on the start of the school and university year” are signs that are pushing towards a social explosion, she explains.

Returning to the “spontaneous” surge of solidarity, born “to compensate for the serious failings of the government”, the PT SG considered that “it is abnormal that it is citizens and the diaspora who are mobilizing to come to the aid of both the victims of the fires and people affected by coronavirus”.

Referring to “the so-called health lockdown”, Ms Hanoune stressed that this “decision” and others “feed violence, poverty, harga, begging and drugs”.

She denounced “solutions that have no impact on reality and a policy of running away from it.”

Regarding the local elections scheduled for November 27, Ms. Hanoune said she was “stunned” by this announcement, when the situation is not at all conducive to it.

“It is a surprising fact to summon the electorate, which does not concern the concerns of citizens,” hammered Ms. Hanoune, describing the announcement as “strange practices”, given “the plague of fires and the pandemic which is still gaping.”

“It’s a failure foretold,” she predicted.

The official denounced the “stubbornness” of the government in implementing its roadmap, based essentially on the organization of electoral meetings.
