The opposition to the national government is organizing a new day of demonstrations for next Wednesday, March 6, in various cities in Colombia.

The Democratic Center and members of the so-called citizen opposition are at the forefront of this callwhich hopes to bring together a large number of participants to express their discontent with the policies and decisions of President Gustavo Petro and his government team.

The senator of the Democratic Center, Miguel Uribe, in a message on his social networks, accompanied by a video, expressed: “Let’s unite for Colombia. Let’s march against the corruption and waste of this government. This Wednesday, March 6, we will march for democracy and freedom.”

For his part, the senator from Colombia Justa Libres, John Milton Rodríguez, also called for citizen mobilization against the Executive. In a video shared on his social networks, Rodríguez urged Colombians to not to remain silent and to march with firmness and conviction on March 6th.

Marelen Castillo, who was Rodolfo Hernández’s vice-presidential ticket in the 2022 presidential elections, joined the initiative to march against Petro. In a video posted on her social media, Castillo invited all Colombians, regardless of their political affiliation, to join the March 6 marches in defense of Colombia.

«This March 6, let’s take to the streets in Colombia. Your ideology does not matter, you are Colombian and your support is fundamental,” Castillo expressed in his message, urging unity in citizen mobilization.
