Rashmi Khatri, Dehradun: The Meteorological Center has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in some areas of Dehradun, Chamoli and Nainital districts, while there is an orange alert for heavy rain in some parts of Bageshwar district. Light to moderate rain is expected at some places in Rudraprayag, Almora, Champawat and Tehri. Although the sequence of rains has slowed down these days in some districts of Uttarakhand, but one or two rounds of rain are so heavy that life is coming to a standstill for some time.

In Dehradun too, it is raining somewhere and bright sunshine somewhere else. It is not known in which area the clouds will suddenly start raining. Even in the mountainous region, the incidents of landslides are not decreasing due to rain.

On Thursday, heavy rains occurred intermittently between 2 and 4 pm in Raipur, Sahastradhara, Haridwar bypass, Jakhan area of ​​Dehradun. Rains occurred at most places in other plain areas as well. Despite the rain on Thursday, the maximum temperature of Dehradun was recorded at 32.4 degrees and the minimum temperature was recorded at 26.2 degrees Celsius.

Director of Meteorological Centre Vikram Singh says that before the departure of monsoon, heavy rains are expected in the hill districts. Heat may cause trouble due to sunshine in the plains. Heavy to very heavy rains may occur in Bageshwar.

The Gaurikund Highway in Rudraprayag-Sonprayag has been blocked for a month. Devotees are facing a lot of difficulty in commuting from here. Due to vehicles not going to Gaurikund, pilgrims have to cover an additional distance of 5 km to reach Kedarnath Dham.

There is a 16 km long walking route from Gaurikund to Kedarnath Dham, while the distance from Sonprayag to Gaurikund is 5 km. From here, devotees have to go to Gaurikund on foot. In this way, pilgrims are reaching for the darshan of Bhole Baba by walking 21 km.

One hundred and fifty meters of the road was destroyed due to the disaster that occurred in Kedarpuri on July 31. Out of this, 50 meters of the road has been repaired. While 100 meters of the road is still under construction. Due to this, the movement of vehicles between Sonprayag-Gaurikund has not been started. Although the pedestrian section was opened on August 15, but due to debris, the pedestrian path is also getting blocked many times.

The security personnel present here are helping the devotees to reach from one end to the other. In Sonprayag, stones are continuously falling from the hill, due to which work is also becoming difficult.
