Hagaboda School Hosts Orange Week to Raise Awareness About Violence Against Women
In a powerful show of support for the fight against violence against women and girls, Hagaboda School has once again organized an Orange Week. The school’s yard is adorned with an orange flag, posters line the corridors, and staff members are donning orange details to raise awareness about the issue.
This marks the second year that Hagaboda School has dedicated a week to spreading awareness about violence against women. Throughout the week, various activities are being arranged to educate students about the subject and the impact it has on society.
Student coach, Joel Widerström, emphasized the importance of addressing the issue with young people who are navigating their way through the complexities of relationships.
“Our young people are in their early teens and many are already in relationships. We think it is important that we talk about it already now. No quiet quiet,” Widerström commented.
Widerström expressed hope that the school’s efforts would lead to increased awareness of the issue among both students and staff.
“The more we talk about it, the easier it becomes to take care of those who are exposed to violence,” he stated.
Throughout the week, students will have the opportunity to engage in discussions and activities aimed at shedding light on the issue of violence against women. The school hopes that the initiative will lead to greater empathy and understanding among its student body.
