The OrangePi CM5 is a computing module that is compatible in size and pin layout with the Raspberry Pi CM4. It can be used in small-sized maker projects and can also be paired with an expansion motherboard.

Compatible with the latest Raspberry Pi computing modules

The latest computing module from Raspberry Pi is the CM4. Based on the Raspberry Pi 5, the CM5 will adopt the same size and pin configuration as the CM4 to ensure compatibility with existing products and peripherals. OrangePi has “prematurely” launched the 5th generation OrangePi CM5.

The OrangePi CM5 is equipped with the Rockchip RK3588S SoC, featuring 4 Cortex-A76 processor cores clocked at 2.4 GHz, and 4 Cortex-A55 processor cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. It integrates the Mali-G610 GPU and a neural processing unit (NPU) with a compute performance of 6 TOPS (supporting data types such as INT4 / INT8 / INT16), and offers memory options of 2 / 4 / 8 / 16GB LPDDR4 or LPDDR4x, as well as eMMC storage options of 32 / 64 / 128 / 256GB.

On the I/O terminal side, the OrangePi CM5 has three 100-pin connection terminals on the back, which can accommodate the following interfaces. Users can design corresponding connections themselves or use the official expansion motherboard for specific I/O functions.

The OrangePi CM5 is now available for purchase, with a price starting at approximately NT$2,904 on Aliexpress, while the expansion motherboard is priced at NT$829.
