Sagala Ratnayake, Senior Security Adviser of the President’s Secretariat, has instructed the District Secretaries to hand over the 100 acres of land marked as private land belonging to the Tamil people, which has been used by the security forces in the North, before the 11th of February.

He has also announced that the military bases that were operating on the identified lands should be established elsewhere as the Tamil people in the north are demanding to hand over their private lands used by the security forces.

To foster harmony

The Senior Defense Adviser said that the rights of these lands will be handed over to the people through the District Secretaries to promote harmony in conjunction with the 75th Independence Day of the country, and if there are additional lands, they will be handed over after looking at their legal status.
