Order to keep hospitals all over Tamil Nadu ready

As the incidence of corona infection has increased in the northern states, RTPCR will be provided free of cost to workers coming to Tamil Nadu from there. Tamil Nadu Medical Minister Ma Subramanian has stated that the examination will be carried out. He told reporters at the Ribbon House in Chennai that companies bringing in workers from the northern states should report to nearby government hospitals.

Minister M. Subramanian said that 54 lakh people in Tamil Nadu have to be vaccinated with the first installment and one crore 48 lakh people with the second installment of the corona vaccine and a special mega vaccination camp will be held on May 8 keeping them in mind.

Health Secretary Radhakrishnan has advised the public to wear face shields in public places even though the spread of corona is under control in Tamil Nadu. He told reporters at the Omanthurai Hospital in Chennai that district collectors and police had been instructed to impose a fine of Rs 500 on those who did not wear a helmet.

Meanwhile, Director of Medical Education Narayana Babu has ordered all hospitals across Tamil Nadu to be on standby. He also advised that the corona wards should be restructured and beds, medical equipment, oxygen facility, medicines and safety equipment should be kept ready. Narayana Babu has mandated that undergraduate and postgraduate medical students and nurses must be vaccinated and wear a face mask.
