In a statement released by the Chennai Municipal Corporation, it said:
The Chennai Corporation has issued an order to stop the construction work of 2,665 buildings in Chennai.
Action has been taken on complaints of construction without permission and violation of building permit rules.
The Corporation has issued an action order to lock and seal the construction sites of 2,403 building owners who have not corrected the violations.
