jpnn.com – CISALAM – The Cisalam Farmers Group (Poktan), Serang, Banten harvested organic rice with very satisfying results.
The harvest was carried out in Cisalam Village, Cisalam, Baros, Serang, Monday (26/8).
According to the Head of TB Hadidi Farmers Group, this year’s harvest reached 6 tons/hectare, an increase from the usual below 5 tons/hectare.
According to him, the secret to this success is the use of ExtraGen organic liquid biofertilizer.
“Alhamdulillah, after using extragen liquid organic fertilizer, there is an increase. Although we are still in the process and continue to learn with this organic system, the results are very satisfying,” he said.
The man who is familiarly called Didi further said that the majority of farmers in his area still use conventional farming systems, namely using chemical fertilizers.
However, with maximum results such as the harvest he believes that people will gradually switch to organic farming.
“The maintenance problem is the same, it is not a hassle, the production cost is lighter compared to conventional farming that uses chemical fertilizers. In terms of the results, the quality of the rice is more sticky, more fragrant and durable. The rice grains are also fuller, denser and more resistant to pests and diseases,” he said.
