As part of the Kochi Metro Short Film Fest project chaired by Mohanlal, a visual language literacy workshop was organized under the leadership of project CEO and actor Raveendran. The workshop was conducted in collaboration with Nikon Middle East. The training course was conducted to find young people interested in cinema in Koothuparamba and surrounding areas. Koothuparamba Chairperson Sujatha inaugurated the workshop. Councilors Muhammad Rafi, Biju and K Ajitha.
As part of the workshop, a short film ‘Kandorakutty’ was shot in the vicinity of Koothuparambu, Kannur. Sadiq Kavil did the story and screenplay. The short film is produced by the Abu Dhabi Chapter of the Kochi Metro Short Film Fest. The film stars Master Anudev, Shijina Suresh, Shafeek Thavarayil, Sreeraj and Sri Lakshmi in the lead roles. The shooting was done by giving film making training to the students selected from the participants of the workshop. Apart from them, many others in Koothuparamba worked in front of and behind the camera.
Hariprasad Kanhangad and Faisal Ernakulam were the cinematographers. The. Sreeraj did the audio recording. Apart from Kannur, the workshop and subsequent shooting will be held in Thiruvananthapuram, Idukki and Malappuram districts, said actor Raveendran.
