Orient Technologies Limited reported a significant financial turnaround in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, with EBITDA surging 161 percent sequentially to ₹15.42 crore. The Mumbai-based IT firm returned to profitability as revenue rose to ₹201.92 crore, bolstered by new insurance sector contracts and an expanded managed services portfolio.

Q1 FY27 Earnings and Profitability Turnaround

Orient Technologies Limited posted a sharp recovery in its financial performance for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. After recording a loss in the preceding quarter, the company returned to positive territory, reporting a net profit of ₹5.17 crore for Q1 FY27. This performance represents a marked improvement from the ₹4.99 crore loss reported in Q4 FY26.

The company’s consolidated revenue from operations reached ₹201.92 crore, reflecting a 9.70 percent increase compared to the ₹184.07 crore reported in Q1 FY26. Operating efficiency also saw a notable shift; EBITDA surged 161 percent quarter-on-quarter to ₹15.42 crore, up from ₹5.91 crore in the previous quarter. Consequently, the company’s EBITDA margin expanded by 4.38 percentage points, rising to 7.57 percent from 3.19 percent in Q4 FY26.

“Q1 FY27 marked a strong sequential improvement in our performance, with revenue growing 9.7 per cent while EBITDA increased 161 per cent, resulting in a 438 basis-point expansion in EBITDA margin,”

Ajay Sawant, Chairman and Managing Director, Orient Technologies

Strategic Growth in Managed Services and Cybersecurity

As part of its long-term strategy, Orient Technologies is shifting its focus toward annuity-based revenue streams. Currently, 23 percent of the company’s revenue originates from recurring managed services, a figure management intends to grow to 51 percent over the next three years. A key driver for this goal is the company’s newly commissioned Network Operations Center (NOC) and Security Operations Center (SOC) in Navi Mumbai, which utilizes Securonix technology to support future Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) growth.

Ajay Sawant highlighted that the company continues to prioritize its cybersecurity offerings as a core growth pillar. Cybersecurity continues to be a strategic growth area for Orient Technologies as enterprises face an expanding threat landscape and increasing regulatory and operational complexity, Sawant noted. This push is supported by the company’s OHMS 2.0 framework, which integrates cloud operations, infrastructure management, and service capabilities.

Contract Wins and Order Book Composition

The company enters the remainder of the fiscal year with a robust order book valued at approximately ₹375.43 crore. This figure encompasses infrastructure deployment projects alongside various cloud and managed services contracts. Notably, Orient Technologies secured two significant engagements within the insurance sector during the quarter: a ₹20 crore contract with a public-sector insurance firm and a ₹24 crore cloud services deal with a general insurer.

While the firm is actively securing new business, management has adopted a cautious approach toward large-ticket orders to mitigate supply chain risks. Acquisitions, including Red Hat, Athena IT, and AIT Internet, have begun to contribute to the company’s bottom line, with Red Hat adding ₹2.88 crore to the top-line during the quarter.

Leadership Appointments and Operational Outlook

To support its evolving operational needs, the company announced two key appointments to its leadership team. Shailesh G. Mandani has been named Chief Financial Officer, bringing experience from his previous senior finance roles within the organization, including his involvement in the company’s initial public offering. Additionally, Sayli Munj has been appointed as Company Secretary and Compliance Officer, bringing over a decade of experience in legal and secretarial compliance.

Despite the positive quarterly results, management remains focused on disciplined growth. While the company has seen sequential improvement, it has declined to provide formal forward-looking guidance on revenue or EBITDA, citing market uncertainty. Furthermore, international expansion is not currently a priority for FY27, as the company concentrates its efforts on the Indian market.

Discrepancies in Reporting and Future Monitoring

Financial reporting for the period has shown some variance across different metrics. While the company reported a consolidated revenue of ₹201.92 crore, some market data indicated a standalone sales figure of ₹199.49 crore, with a stated decline in standalone net profit compared to the June 2025 quarter. Investors monitoring the company’s progress will likely focus on the utilization of IPO funds allocated for its Device-as-a-Service (DAS) initiative. As of the end of the quarter, ₹45 crore had been deployed from an original budget of ₹80 crore, with the remaining ₹35 crore expected to be utilized in the coming quarters.
